Derby Day

The only thing more exciting on a day like today (for us designer folk) is (of course) the show of gorgeous hats at the big race later this afternoon at Churchill Downs.  Those that know me well know I am a huge horse lover and watching this race is so.much.fun!  A few years ago, I had the pleasure of attending The Derby (with a press pass!) and stood within an arms length of each of the horses and their mounts as they took to the track.  It was a day I will never forget, and after meeting all the horses again this year (here) it is certainly a tough call on whom to place my bet.  May the best horse (and rider) win, and safe travels to Charm City for the next leg of the race.  The world will be watching...

The Friday 5

Even when life is crazy, everyone should take a quiet moment to stop and smell the flowers...  

With a new logo, comes a new sign!

 I am really liking the scale of these chairs (selected for a client in a different fabric) by Lee and the pillows are just.too.fabulous.too.  Both found locally here and the upholstery sale runs until May 6th...

We are always "pinning" hairstyles we love (more found here), and I went crazy for this creative top knot when Nikki (one of our interns) showed up to work this week with this upside down French braid and adorable messy bun to boot.  Just.too.cute. 

The view (and the ceiling) of this room are truly spectacular.  This week we've been putting our design plan together for an upcoming "elegant and sophisticated" June bridal shower hosted here.  Our color palette is champagne and gold with all white florals.  It promises to be nothing short of WOW.

Interior Inspiration - G is for...

...GARDENS (potted that is)!  By rule of thumb, we always bring something living into the spaces we design, as well as the pretty parties to which we place our special touches.  This injection of nature is particularly fun in city dwellings where one doesn't always see much greenery.  Whether indoors or out, potted gardens are a beautiful way to liven up your living and entertaining spaces.  Not blessed with a green thumb? Succulents and ZZ plants are the perfect, easy-to-care-for options!  Check out some of our favorite potted beauties below...

MODEL CALL - Harbor East Fashion Show

Many exciting opportunities have crossed our desks at the studio these past few weeks. One of the projects we are most looking forward to is signing on to be the creative director/stylist for the upcoming HARBOR FASHIONEASTA Fashion Show on Saturday, June 2, 2012!  This is the first year for this runway production (with the hopes of becoming an annual event), driving foot traffic to the fast growing Harbor East fashion and restaurant district.

We are delighted to have been selected for this project and with the event now only weeks away we have an even longer "To Do" list.  That being said, we are now looking for models seeking runway experience and local exposure.

Spring Styling

This week we are going shopping!  One of our favorite (returning) wardrobe clients has asked us to help pull her spring wardrobe together, AND...she is looking for the perfect party dress for a black tie wedding later this month in Mexico (how fun)!  So, for the past week we have been putting together a few looks we think she'll love--ones that fit her busy, on-the-go lifestyle as mother-of-two (and volunteer enthusiast).  We wanted to blend high and lower end lines with both brights and basics for the perfect mix and match collection.  Here are a few combinations we are currently loving...
